EDUCATION: An earned Master's degree from a recognized college or university. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of successful, full-time public school teaching experience; (one year's credit equals 75 percent or more of a school year under an employment contract). CREDENTIALS: A valid and appropriate Administrative Credential or an appropriate Supervision Credential in compliance with the provisions of Title 5, Administrative Code 80125-80127 and Education Code 44270. PERSONAL QUALITIES: 1. Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health; 2. Evidence of good moral character; 3. Satisfactory recommendations from training supervisors or other professionals who have observed the candidate's personal characteristics, scholastic achievement and job-related performance. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
EVALUATION: The evaluation and assessment of performance of the Assistant Principal will be conducted annually by the Principal, in accordance with the provisions of Education Code 44660-44665 and Oxnard School District Policy. TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Assistant Principals assigned to middle/K-8 schools shall work 210 duty days. The adopted work year, salary and benefit schedule will be found in the most current Site Administrator Compensation and Benefit Program.
